What if People Actually Listened to Mel Kiper?

Ever wonder what your team would look like if Mel Kiper were actually God's gift to drafting? What if he were right? What would your team look like? Well we're about to find out.

Below are each team as they would look if Mel's first round mock draft pick was correct (from 2001 to 2006, not coincidentally starting the same year Matt Millen began drafting players). Below that are the Mel's mock drafts for those years. Check out some of these teams! Cleveland Browns fans... yeeesh! I'll have much more to say about the draft later, but what strikes me as most interesting is how shitty he would have made the teams that turned out good like the Eagles, Pats and Bears. I've got more to say about this tomorrow but for now, enjoy what your team could have looked like:

I wouldn't call myself a Mel Kiper apologist, but this is probably not fair to him. His mock drafts are not touted as an evaluation of what each team should do, but rather as a predictor of what each team will do. He does add commentary to what he thinks should happen.

your analysis makes no sense. 2001 - kiper has gerard warren going second but gets passed up. therefore he's falls to brown's who take him instead of LT. in this case, the browns did follow kiper's mock in that warren was picked before LT.

Yeah, ridiculous. What happens one year completely affects what happens the next. You can't look at this in a vacuum.
